Happy New Year, Welcome 2023~

Well, 2022 may be the fastest year yet. Time sure does fly and kids sure do grow.

Big things 2022:

  1. Caroline went to Peru on her own!
  2. Ben did his first sleepaway camp.
  3. Angie broke her foot, and Caroline broke her hand (whomp whomp).
  4. Caroline tried out middle school basketball and performed as Mary Poppins.
  5. Ben rocked as goalie and striker in an undefeated season.
  6. We knocked out Shenandoah National Park, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Dead Horse State Park.
  7. We traveled a lot - Orlando, Moab, Turks and Caicos, Peru, Smith Mountain Lake, New York.
  8. Caroline outgrew mom.
  9. Mom got a huge promotion.
  10. We added Five Crowns to our game set and Andy and Angie love it.
  11. Andy and Angie worked an insanely hard lego puzzle - ha.
  12. Dad fell in love with pickleball.
  13. Ben wears the same size shoe as mom.
  14. Both kids are rocking straight A's and rounding out their last years in Elementary and Middle.
It was a good year and I expect only more of the same in 2023~

Beaches Turks & Caicos Vacation

Christmas 2022!

Throughout the season, we stayed busy. Caroline and Andy volunteered at the Santa Supper. Caroline and I rang bells at Westmont Senior Living and Ben passed out candy to the residents. We all helped with the Christmas Eve service in some way. We celebrated with the Dahl family in town, our traditional Kabuto dinner out, and then our family time on Christmas day, with the Wetzels coming by to visit. We surprised the kids with TWO KITTENS after opening all the gifts - Pumpkin and Oliver. We are all over the moon in love. Grandma and Grandpa came up after Christmas for a great lowkey visit, filled with lots of kitten time.

Thanksgiving 2022

We went to Danville to celebrate with the extended Paynes. Regrettably, one great-grandchild got sick, so we weren't able to gather the whole group. But it was wonderful to be together after four years. We pivoted for Christmas with the Payne cousins that Friday, and rounded out the weekend serving lunch at the community Thanksgiving meal, which was a great experience for all four of us.
